Barco has just presented the world's first projector specially designed for 4K environments in post-production, archiving, restoration and color correction. With a greatly expanded color gamut, higher contrast and superior color uniformity compared to other models, the DP4K-P designed to meet the demanding demands of the post-production industry. A unique and attractive feature for the post-production community is the Communicator software, which provides greater control over the color space, allows for per-eye color correction in 3D content, and offers powerful input analysis.

Barco DP4K-PThis projector features a dedicated 4K input card (4x3 Gbps), allowing playback of native 4K content. Its special color filter creates a wide range of colors, considerably wider than the current DCI/SMPTE recommendation. Each projector is calibrated for superior brightness and great color uniformity. And thanks to its specially designed lens system, the DP4K-P displays images with much higher contrast.

For its part, Barco has renewed the Communicator software in close collaboration with a series of partners in the industry. The general appearance of the interface has been adapted to the dark environment in which it is used. Its intuitive menu structure is quick to navigate and all functionality is conveniently packaged in a single section, improving workflow and eliminating the need for additional tools. Dedicated software offers greater control over the color space and allows for per-eye color correction for 3D content.
