V RNE Short Film Contest

This Monday, RNE presented the director Álvaro Germán Roda with the prize of the V Short Film Contest for My dad is a film director, a work that mixes the documentary genre and fiction and stars Alba, a five-year-old girl. The director of the short film received the award from the president of the Film Academy, Enrique González Macho, and the director of RNE, Alfonso Nasarre. The award ceremony, which was held at the Academy headquarters, was also attended by actresses Verónica Forqué and Elena Anaya, as part of the jury.

Great stories can be told in just a few minutes. Proof of this is the short film 'My dad wants to be a film director', which has won the award at the contest held annually by RNE with the collaboration of Obra Social Ibercaja and for which public radio has received more than 170 proposals. According to its creator, Álvaro Germán Roda, his work is “a mixture of documentary and fiction” in three minutes, a tender portrait of the world of cinema.

The short film stars Alba, a 5-year-old girl whose father “makes her life impossible” by wanting to dedicate herself to film direction. A short film for which Álvaro Germán Roda has included his closest family: his wife and his daughter star in the work.

In addition to the award for the winner, RNE has also recognized Castaways, by Mario Rico, and Rigor, by Óscar Arenas and David Galán Galindo, as second and third finalists respectively.

Among the members of the jury are Enrique González Macho (president of the Film Academy), the actresses Verónica Forqué and Elena Anaya, as well as Félix Piñuela (director of the TVE film space Spanish version) and Arturo Martín (program director from movie of RNE).

At the award ceremony, the public watched the ten short films that were pre-selected. The winning project can soon be seen on TVE, and on RTVE.ES users can also enjoy the rest of the short films submitted to the competition.
