Doherty technology, applied to broadcast amplifiers, optimizes energy consumption and reduces operational costs.

Egatel TUH3604Coinciding with IBC 2013, Egatel will present the latest advances in its transmitters under the slogan “cutting-edge technology designed to last.” In Amsterdam it will present its new HET series of high-efficiency transmitters with air and liquid cooling systems, of medium and high power.

As for the TLE6800 series, these liquid-cooled systems are characterized by their modular design. Egatel presents an innovative option by integrating the pump system into the transmission rack, thus reducing costs and footprint.

It is noteworthy that Doherty technology makes it possible to improve the efficiency of amplifiers by up to 42% for ATSC standards and 38% for COFDM, optimizing energy use, in addition to the OPEX operational cost.

The Egatel series based on air cooling is based on 600 Wrms amplifiers (DVB-T/ISDB-T) and can be integrated in configurations of up to five of them with an output power of up to 3 kW.

The design of these amplifiers prevents air flow through modules and components. Redundant power supplies that can be extracted through the front of the equipment or the use of external fans of the module are, on the other hand, part of Egatel's know-how.

It is also possible to select between wideband or Doherty on each amplifier, so this is a huge advantage when it comes to backup transmitters in N+1 systems.
