AJA - Musion - Holograma

Eine Auswahl von AJA solutions, such as Hi5 or HA 12G-SDI are part of Musion Group’s interactive hologram creation workflow.

Musion 3D is a leading developer, marketer, producer Und broadcaster of photorealistic 3D holographic illusions. The company has worked with leading international companies in 45 countries to produce immersive holographic video presentations, installations and lifelike stand-ins of high-profile figures including Prince Charles, Richard Branson, Rihanna, Madonna, Mariah Carey and the Black Eyed Peas. Among some of its most notable developments are tools such as a telepresence holographic conferencing solution, developed to deliver life-size 3D experiences in real time. In preparation for Vodafone Romania’s 5G launch, Musion created the first live telepresence hologram in 4K during a Mother’s Day event. Footage from the event was subsequently recorded and edited for use in commercials.

AJA - Musion - HologramaThe event setup required the holographic images to be transmitted over long distances between two different locations, which required conversion from coaxial cable to fibre to maintain the video signal. To ensure the video resolution was consistent throughout the transmission and to convert the live 4K SDI 4K signals to fibre, Musion relied on the AJA Hi5 Und HA5 12G-SDI mini-converter range, enabling high-bandwidth signals to be shared over long distances via a single cable with no downtime.

Depending on the installation or project requirements, as Ian O’Connell, director of Musion, details, the company benefits from an “arsenal of AJA solutions” to help deliver high fidelity audio and images. Minimising audio distortion is achieved with a range of AJA audio embedders and de-embedders for echo cancellation, while the AJA UDC up/down/cross converter helps to “effortlessly” manage resolution conversions to maintain consistent frame sizes across project workflows. To capture holographic content, Musion relies on the AJA Ki Pro line of digital recorders, while the company relies on U-TAP HDMI and U-TAP SDI USB 3.0 capture devices by AJA for live streaming.

“We use AJA tools in a nonconventional way compared to standard IT and AV installers. We’re often first to market in developing new applications of AV technology. AJA offers strong support whenever we encounter issues during the development of new workflows; they’re also always able to assist efficiently and effectively,” concludes O’Connell.
