Ross Video - Voyager - Lucid Studio

The Voyager graphics rendering solution and Lucid Studio control tool for virtual and XR production environments by RossVideo have recently been upgraded.

Since being launched in 2019, Voyager has been used to power some of the “world’s most impressive” LED screen virtual production productions, including CCTV’s Spring Gala Festival. Based on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, the latest version of Voyager (4.27) includes new configuration tools for calibrating camera lenses and LED video walls, as well as improved RossTalk E Datalinq configuration, and support for embedded audio output on video outputs. In addition, the inclusion of Epic’s nDisplay technology enables seamless synchronisation of multiple LED displays for extended reality productions.

In addition, Lucid Studio version 6.3 introduces an improved web browser that delivers better performance and allows the third-party web interface to be part of the Lucid control panel. An improved web API (using SSL for encrypted communication) enables secure integration with third parties. In addition, enhanced integration with mobile devices opens up the possibility to control events from a mobile phone or tablet, even using a QR code. This latest release also includes support for the Elgato Streamdeck device, offering a more tactile control experience for Lucid users.

Manesh Patel, director of product and business development at Ross Virtual Solutions, underlines the current and future relevance of LED virtual production environments: “We’ve seen XR Virtual LED Studio trickle down very quickly from high-end Hollywood productions like The Mandalorian to more mainstream broadcast environments because it offers more flexibility and amazing creative possibilities. Ross is very pleased to be supporting XR Virtual LED Studio content producers everywhere with these new versions of Voyager and Lucid Studio.”
