Matrox Video to showcase Origin for the first time at IBC 2023

Following its world premiere at NAB 2023, Origin, the Matrox Video IT-based framework, will be on display for visitors to IBC 2023 in Amsterdam from September 15-18.

Matrox Origin, a solution created to “redefine” live production workflows, offers a native IT-based approach to television production, providing scalable, low-latency, frame-accurate broadcast operations for world-class live television production. Bridging the worlds of broadcast and IT, the Matrox Video solution “guarantees” synchronization throughout the live production process, delivering processing at any level within the distributed, on-premise, or cloud environment. Similarly, Matrox Origin, capable of handling inherent redundancy without additional intervention, also supports redundancy across multiple Amazon Web Services (AWS) Availability Zones for mission-critical applications. IBC 2023 attendees will be able to learn about the potential of Matrox Origin at the “Live Production Unlimited: Making Time with Matrox ORIGIN” session on Friday, September 15 in RAI Hall G106.

In parallel, all visitors interested in signal management – including bi-directional, high-density ST 2110 to HDMI/SDI monitoring and conversion – will be able to discover the complete Matrox ConvertIP range. The solutions are accompanied by a new “daisy-chaining” feature, allowing users to send multiple streams over one connection and display any stream on any connected monitor. These fanless, NMOS-compatible devices are 4K and IPMX-ready, support uncompressed ST 2110-20 and compressed ST 2110-22 JPEG XS workflows, and include PoE+.

On the other hand, for remote production applications, Matrox Video will demonstrate on its booth how users can send up to four broadcast-quality, synchronized SDI camera signals from any location over the open Internet and/or the public/private cloud using a single Monarch EDGE 4K/multiHD encoder and genlockable decoders. New at IBC2023, version 2.05 of the system adds support for SCTE 104, closed captioning and more for easy integration into broadcast workflows.

Luma H.265 and KVM Extio

Matrox Video has also prepared for IBC 2023 several enhancements to its range of ST 2110 and H.264 encoders and decoders and SD/HD/UHD I/O cards. New features include ultra-low latency with subframe transfer, 8K support and enhanced Linux support. Of particular note is the Luma H.265 codec card, which now supports Intel ARC graphics for encoding and decoding multiple H.264 and H.265 streams, facilitating multi-format distribution.

Similarly, Matrox Video will also highlight the Extio 3 IP extenders operating over 1GbE networks. Its latest upgrades include support for pressure-sensitive Wacom tablets so graphic artists maintain full creative control even in remote locations. Users can create scalable and cost-effective 1GbE KVM matrix switching environments with secure, low-bit-rate 4Kp60 4:4:4:4 video extension and switching and up to quad 1080p60 4:4:4:4 over LAN, WAN, or the Internet.

Matrox Video solutions, key to many industry players, will also be used in booths from RT Software, Pebble, intoPix, Stagetec, Anyware Video, and TAG Video Systems.
