Seagate and axle ai team up to bring artificial intelligence to storage

Seagate storage solutions and axle ai search software join forces to offer new possibilities to its customers.

Through this alliance, Axle ai 2021 is now included as standard on a selection of Seagate products. The software includes a browser interface that enables multiple users to tag, catalog and search their media files, as well as a range of AI-powered options for cataloging and automatically attributing specific visual and audio characteristics within those files.

The new collaboration centers on the Seagate Lyve cloud mass storage platform, designed to provide a cohesive data storage architecture that extends from on-premises removable media files to cloud storage as a service (STaaS); direct-attached SSD, HDD и RAID solutions; and Seagate’s Lyve Mobile range.

Complementary tools

The modular nature of the axle ai system supports additional add-ons for object and logo recognition and sports highlight identification. The software can be used to create distributed team workflows for otherwise isolated groups. It also includes a range of plug-in panels for software from Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite of applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.

Sam Bogoch, CEO of axle ai, believes that these AI packages from its partnership with Seagate “bring next-generation AI and MAM capabilities to the widest possible range of creative teams.” Meanwhile, Jeff Fochtman, senior vice president of marketing at Seagate Technology, notes that the union of the two brands “provides even greater value by offering a set of scalable solutions that help media and entertainment professionals access and use massive data.”
