The IBC installed at Roland-Garros (Paris) for the Rugby World Cup 2023 is structured with a SMPTE ST 2110 network architecture designed by HBS and supported by Их solutions.

HBS has decided to use a СМПТЭ СТ 2110 fiber optic network to interconnect the Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Toulouse, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Saint-Denis and Saint-Étienne stadiums with the МДС located in Paris.

The mobile units deployed in these infrastructures for the Rugby World Cup 2023 are connected to the network via Lawo .edge hyperdensity gateways that are equipped with two processing blades and two back I/O boards in a redundant hot standby configuration. These units handle all bi-directional traffic between the sites and the IBC over Orange’s transport network, and integrate seamlessly with HBS’s existing IP backbone infrastructure.

HBS has also decided to take advantage of Lawo’s Home Apps, microservices-based solutions that run on high-standard 1U servers and can be used in the most agile combinations, while allowing HBS to save space, weight and energy. Additionally, Lawo has confirmed that all IP streams traversing France are controlled by two independent ВСМ clusters, adding intuitive broadcast control to this technology bet.

Bart Lucassen, director of engineering at HBS, is very positive about the performance of the Lawo solutions: “The beauty of the HOME Apps and .edge is that they are incredibly powerful and integrate seamlessly with our existing IP set-up.” Elaborating on Home Apps, Karlheinz Amberg, Head of Global Sales at Lawo, adds: “Running in parallel with HBS’ existing vm_dmv solution, the Home Multiviewer app with a freely configurable number of inputs and outputs is currently proving that it is ready to be released. The Home UDX Converter app, which was already put through its paces in Australia and New Zealand, is being used for a host of format, color space and other conversion tasks.”
