The general director of Radiotelevision of the Region of Murcia (RTRM) succeeds Carmen Amores García, general director of the Castilian-La Mancha public radiotelevision.

Juan Manuel Aguado (Photo: La Verdad)The Federation of Autonomous Radio and Television Organizations (FORTA) has appointed Juan Miguel Aguado Terrón, general director of Radio and Television of the Region of Murcia (RTRM), as the new president of the Federation.

Aguado has a degree in Information Sciences, a doctorate from the Complutense University of Madrid and a postgraduate degree in Social Research from the Polish Academy of Sciences. His career spans the field of media analysis and research, as well as university teaching. Since 1994, he has taught communication and media analysis classes at both Spanish and international universities.

Since 2002 he has been a professor of Journalism at the University of Murcia. Specialized in the analysis of the impact of technological changes in content industries, he has participated in and directed various R&D projects at regional, national and European levels, publishing numerous reports and analyzes on digital change.

In May 2016, he was appointed general director of RTRM by the Regional Assembly of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, with the support of all political forces in the Region and being the first general director on a parliamentary payroll elected unanimously.

Aguado succeeds Carmen Amores García, general director of the Public Entity Radio Television of Castilla-La Mancha, whose work during the six months of her statutory mandate has been one of intense institutional activity and media presence, positively valued by the General Board, which has congratulated Amores for her efforts in defending the interests of FORTA and promoting its development within the Spanish audiovisual panorama.
