QTV, together with ES Broadcast and Ross Video, promotes sports broadcasting in Scotland
The production service provider QTV in association with ES Broadcast y Ross Video, has enhanced its sports broadcasting capabilities to better serve its clients, which include the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), BBC, EBU, World Archery and The New York Times.
As Scotland's largest provider of outside broadcast facilities, QTV produced over 500 events and outside broadcasts across all sectors in 2022. It is the production partner of the SPFL, providing coverage of 180 Cinch Premiership matches per season and managing league post-production, global broadcasts and streaming distribution. In October 2022, QTV facilitated the introduction of, and now hosts, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operations center for the Scottish FA.
Faced with the challenge of implementing a efficient video routing and mixing solution, QTV adopted Ross Video technology, provided by ES Broadcast, its main technology partner. ES Broadcast identified a range of Ross products that would form the standard technology on which QTV would be based. Ross's comprehensive solutions, with products including routers Vengeance, mixers Carbonite and infrastructure openGear, have become integral components of QTV's technical strategy.
QTV with SPFL since 2017
In 2017, QTV began services for the SPFL with new broadcast equipment, adopting remote production in 2020 thanks to a multi-year contract. At the same time, he launched several remote engineering vehicles (ENG) customized for efficient broadcast.
In 2022, QTV moved to Clydesdale House, facilities built expressly for remote production, increasing its production capacity. A year later, QTV further expanded its facilities to meet growing demand.
QTV's fruitful collaboration with Ross Video and ES Broadcast has led to a number of improvements in its business metrics and operations. The company saw a significant increase in its turnover, rising from £1.7 million in 2018 to £5.3 million in 2023. Alongside this financial growth, QTV has also expanded its workforce, going from a team of nine to forty-five employees. Supported by Ross Video's innovative technology, QTV has created a leading position in Scottish sports broadcasting, reinforced by the operational support and specialist expertise provided by ES Broadcast, a Diamond Elite partner of Ross Video.
