Honduran Televicentro relies on Sapec for its HD broadcasts
Televicentro has selected Sapec's equipment, distributed in Honduras by Cocatel, to compress and decompress its high-definition signals through its IP network.
Sapec, a Spanish company specialising in solutions for encoding video and audio signals, has delivered its high-definition encoders and decoders (MPEG4) to the Honduran television Televicentro through its distributor in Honduras, Cocatel. Thanks to this equipment, this broadcaster will be able to send and receive content in high definition from Tegucigalpa to San Pedro Sula through an IP network.
Televicentro carried out an exhaustive battery of tests for the award of this project, which were successfully passed by the Altum equipment manufactured by Sapec.
The equipment supplied corresponds to the Altum family, MPEG2 and MPEG4 HD/SD encoders and decoders designed for transport over IP and ASI networks. These devices will allow the inclusion of the contribution profile for MPEG4 Hi422 by means of software update if required by the customer.
The model selected for this project has been the Altum AHE 4010, with HDSDI input, 2 embedded stereo audios and/or AES/EBU, MPEG4 HD/SD compression HP@L4 profile and HP@L3 and IP output interface (2 ports).
When opting for these Sapec systems, Televicentro has valued the possibility of updating the equipment through software to MPEG4 HD Hi422, the very low encoding delay, the sending of 2 TS through a single IP port (with different FEC configuration), and the simple configuration and management through a friendly graphical interface.
