NRD and Sapec with Barça TV

NRD Multimedia has supplied the Barcelona Football Club with the terminal equipment to contribute high-quality video and audio between different club headquarters where live content is produced for its television channel Barça TV.

FC Barcelona has trusted the integrator for its Barça TV channel GDR Multimedia and coding technology Sapec.

NRD ha suministrado siete parejas de codificadores-decodificadores Sapec, el modelo seleccionado pertenece a la familia Xavic (equipos multiformato MPEG2 HD/SD y MPEG4 SD), el modelo suministrado ha sido el Xve 1010 I4A , codificadores-decodificadores MPEG2 SD 4:2:2P@ML, actualizables mediante software a MPEG 2 HD (422P@HL).

Los equipos, instalados en la Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, en el Miniestadi y en el Control Central de Barça TV, incorporan entrada/salida SDI, 4 canales de audio embebidos o AES/EBU e interfaz salida/entrada IP (2 puertos independientes) permitiendo realizar la transmisión en formato unicast y/o multicast e incluyen la protección frente a errores FEC SMPTE 2022.

Xavic decoders allow real-time network analysis (jitter measurement, packet loss, corrected packets, CC errors, which will allow Barca TV to easily diagnose any problem on the network).

Xavier Fontoba, Head of Operations at Barça TV, commented that the Barcelona Football Club decided to award the project to NRD multimedia since it offered the supply of “turnkey” equipment with installation and after-sales support, and because SAPEC equipment operates with high coding quality and low delay, essential in the contribution of live sports signals.
