HP has presented the new DreamColor Z27x and Z24x monitors for PCs and Macs that make up the second generation of HP DreamColor Engine technology and provide 1.07 trillion colors on the screen, with a margin of color error so small that it is imperceptible to the human eye. Compared to the previous generation of products, the new monitors include up to 60% more pixels, contain up to a 4,000% increase in the internal color palette and are 57% thinner.

HP Z27x DreamColorThe HP Z24x DreamColor Monitor delivers the color accuracy and consistency that has become synonymous with the HP DreamColor brand, at a price 25% less than the first HP DreamColor display. For its part, the HP Z27x DreamColor monitor offers triple the color accuracy of the previous generation, even with 4K images. This monitor stands out for incorporating HP's hostless calibration engine, with integrated support for third-party professional color measurement instruments. Additionally, Ethernet-based remote management with an integrated web server provides unprecedented monitor control.

The HP Z27x and HP Z24x DreamColor monitors are aimed at professionals for whom color management is essential, as well as users looking to use only the best in technological innovation.

Key features of the new monitors are 10-bit color accuracy from design to production with push-button color space selection and easy color calibration; single-button access to presets including sRGB D65, sRGB D50, Adobe RGB, BT.709, BT.2020 and DCI-P3; ability to create a custom color space with absolute control over primary colors, white point and tone response; and easy connection to existing workflows thanks to compatibility with Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems.

The result of technology collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG and other studios is the first HP DreamColor monitor, the HP LP2480zx, to address the growing critical need for color accuracy in the animation, photography, film, broadcast, product design and graphic arts categories.

“HP technology has enabled our studio to provide incredible visual effects to our audience,” said Kate Swanborg, director of technology communications and strategic alliance, DreamWorks Animation. “The new Z27x raises the bar in precision and ease of use to ensure perfect color consistency in every scene, empowering greater creativity in our artists.”
