Brass Roots Technologies - Christie

Brass Roots Technologies, a company specialising in consulting and engineering design of advanced optics and electronics for high-performance imaging and display systems, has been acquired by Christie.

Zoran Veselic, president and chief technology officer of Christie, believes the acquisition will help “diversify and advance Christie’s own engineering capabilities,” All current employees of Brass Roots Technologies, which will begin operating at its headquarters under the Christie name, will continue in this new role.

Since its inception in 2009, Brass Roots Technologies has been at the forefront of innovation, according to Christie itself. Its expertise is focused on developing differentiated solutions that integrate advanced optics, mechanics and electronics, and it has a diverse industry knowledge that includes video, entertainment, imaging, medical, telecommunications and defence/military imaging. By joining Christie, Brass Roots Technologies will be able to share its knowledge of fields such as system architecture, optical design and analysis, mechanical design, electronic hardware and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) firmware design, software development, in-house CNC manufacturing, prototype assembly and functional test and verification. Brass Roots also has expertise in DLP, LCD and LCoS projection systems, LED video walls, optical digital projection systems based on lamps, LED, laser phosphor and laser illumination, lenses and ultra high frame rate projection.

Frank Poradish, founder of Brass Roots Technologies, welcomes the agreement with Christie: “We are honored to join Christie in this merging of the minds. We have collaborated with Christie since the start of our business more than 13 years ago, and there is no better fit for us. The synergies between the two organizations will contribute to growing Christie and add to its technology capacity both in the labs and in engineering resources.”
