Christie - Firma acuerdo - Marruecos - Morocco - Moroccan

Two recently signed agreements with the Government of Morocco and the Cinerji chain will see the arrival of more than 200 Christie projectors across the African country.

The government-backed SIN initiative, commissioned by the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communications, will provide 100 screens in cultural centres across the country, while a second project, this time privately funded by new exhibitor Cinerji, will bring Christie projection technology to more than 100 cinemas.

Both projects will be executed by Global Entertainment, Christie’s partner in the region. Hakim Chagraoui, founder and CEO of the company, has chosen Christie technology because of its “reputation for quality and reliability,” Moreover, “the equipment has met and exceeded our expectations,” adds Chagraoui.

Cinerji will debut Christie equipment in 25 multiplexes in large and medium-sized cities in Morocco, while the SIN project will add screens in all government-owned cultural buildings in the country. While the SIN project aims to be completed by the end of 2023, the Cinerji deployment is estimated to take three years to complete. The Cinerji cinemas will also be equipped with Christie Vive Audio sound systems.

Adil Zerouali, Christie’s senior sales director, also welcomed the arrival of Christie solutions on Moroccan soil: “It’s very exciting to be a part of the development of Moroccan cinema by supplying our projectors. It is clear that there is huge potential for cinema experiences in the region, and, with the support of the government as well as private investment, we look forward to seeing the market flourish.”
