SPL has been designing both analog and digital audio processors for professional sound and music production since 1984, positioning itself as one of the most revolutionary brands thanks to the proprietary technology that its products incorporate.

Some of the milestones of SPL's R&D department are the patented Vitalizer processor for sound optimization, the invention of the transient design tool Transient Designer, the launch of ATMOS 5.1 in 1998, the first discrete microphone preamplification system in 5.1 surround format and the development of SPL Supra operational amplifiers operating at a voltage of 120 V.

Supra operational amplifiers are the integral components of the mastering product line that establishes SPL as a new benchmark when it comes to processing both analog and digital audio formats.
