Ovide proposes to change a Canon or Nikon DSLR for the new C300
With its new Renewal Plan, Ovide will return to DSLR users what their Canon or Nikon cost them by purchasing the new C300 now.
Ovid has just launched a new equipment Renewal Plan. This time it is aimed at DSLR users, Canon or Nikon and Ovide proposes paying 100% of the cost they had when purchasing the new Canon C300, both in the EF and PL versions.
This plan will come into force on July 2 and will be in force until December 31 or until the units designated for this Renove Plan are exhausted.
Equipped with an EF lens mount, the EOS C300 camcorder is supported by an all-star cast of high-performance EF mount lenses, not only the current wide range of interchangeable EF lenses for EOS digital SLR cameras, which have earned the trust and respect of photographers around the world, but also the new EF Cine lenses from the recently announced EOS Cine System. When equipped with a Canon EF lens, the C300's Peripheral Illumination Correction1 automatically corrects vignetting based on the optical characteristics of each lens and enables iris control from the camcorder1. Canon EF lenses also allow the recording of metadata1 such as the model of lens being used, aperture value, and shutter speed.
Sensor CMOS
The Canon EOS C300/C300 PL camcorder integrates a newly developed CMOS sensor of approximately 8.29 effective megapixels, equivalent to Super 35 mm cinema and has a pixel dimension that is larger than the conventional one used in professional camcorders and allows greater light collection capacity to enhance sensitivity and reduce electronic noise. The sensor reads a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) video signal for each of the RGB primary colors, reducing the incidence of moiré, while producing a high horizontal resolution signal of 1,000 TV lines.
Thanks to a higher signal reading speed, the camcorder's CMOS reduces shutter distortion ("rolling shutter skews"), a phenomenon that appears in CMOS sensors when shooting moving subjects which could appear diagonally distorted. In addition, the combination of the sensor with the high-performance Canon DIGIC DV III image processor facilitates high precision in gamma processing and produces smooth gradation expression.
In addition to MPEG-2 Full HD compression (MPEG2 422@HL compliant), the EOS C300/C300 PL camcorder employs 4:2:2 color sampling for high-resolution performance that minimizes “chromatic ghosting” at the edges. Additionally, the camcorder achieves a maximum recording speed of 50 Mbps, which supports high-quality video recording.
