Sony's video app, also on Samsung and LG smart TVs

Specializing in action, comedy, horror and science fiction movies and series, Sony's Crackle service will be available not only on the brand's televisions.

Sony's free video service, Crackle, will not be limited to the Japanese manufacturer's televisions. Crackle will soon be available on Samsung and LG Smart TVs, as well as Samsung's line of connected Blu-ray players.

The application can now be downloaded in the manufacturers' online stores in some countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia, although Sony hopes to gradually extend the service to other territories.

Connected televisions from manufacturer Vizio will also be able to connect to Crackle, although for now only in the United States and Canada.

Focused on action, comedy, horror and science fiction movies and series, Sony's service is among those with the most access on the Japanese manufacturer's smart TVs. The announcement to expand Crackle to other brands is part of Sony's strategy to bring the streaming application to "all the major manufacturers on the market."
