EVS' latest solutions are aimed at achieving an improved viewing experience and greater content monetization in an ever-evolving environment.

EVS and IBC 2013

EVS will show at IBC 2013 its latest enriched live production solutions capable of capturing and enhancing content and making it instantly available for broadcast, internal distribution in the venue itself where the event takes place or through second screen applications. All this aimed at achieving an improved visual experience and greater content monetization in a constantly evolving environment.

In the sports area, EVS Sports will focus its presence at IBC on the 4K capabilities of the XT3 production servers. These devices, recently tested at the Confederations Cup in Brazil, offer high flexibility and advanced operations for immediate delivery of multi-camera images, second screens and Live Slow Motion in Ultra HD resolution. EVS Sports will also host live demonstrations of its latest connectivity solutions that shorten the distance between the event venue and the central newsroom or broadcast centre, as remote production teams have simultaneous and immediate access to rich content.

EVS Entertainment will introduce its XS media server, now with enhanced multicam capabilities with up to 12 HD streams per server. We can also see the solution for studio playout, Nano Air, intended for entertainment productions. The latest EVS software driver requires no configuration and gives production teams instant control over all EVS production servers. EVS Entertainment will also introduce its IPLink plug-in with advanced integration with the new Adobe Premiere Pro suite. This workflow enabler enables immediate creative enrichment of content without cumbersome searching or media processing.

As for the EVS News area, its workflow engine for multi-platform ingestion, editing and distribution at the highest speed will be demonstrated in Amsterdam.

This solution allows for the collection of content from multiple sources, including smart devices and social networks. As a result, the media is immediately available for editing and broadcast, so that broadcasters can get their news out as it happens. The web interface also provides web services with SOA for third-party integration. Additionally, EVS News will introduce a new feature for the XS Server that enables automatic detection for HD upconversion during ingest, further reducing media processing operations.

Finally, EVS Media will focus on an advanced solution for ingesting and mastering file-based workflows. At IBC, EVS will showcase IMF and DCP J2K encoding and decoding with OpenCubeHD technology without any file loss and up to three times the speed of real time. It will also show closed captioning and subtitling management as part of the OpenCube MXF suite.
EVS Media will also present XFReader through MXF UniReader, a self-managed solution for PC that allows you to open and view MXF files under the SMPTE standard. MediaArchive Director has also been updated with improvements such as virtualization and multi-tenancy for sports asset management.
