Designed from the ground up, with Quantel's advanced technology, the new servers will be smaller, more powerful and more affordable.

Quantel has just launched its new range of sQ servers designed for the immediate delivery of news and sports. The new servers have been designed from the ground up to take full advantage of the latest generation of disk and processing technologies. As a result, they are smaller, lower cost and much more powerful than the existing sQ400 and 800. This new platform will enable broadcasters to meet increasingly shorter delivery times across a broader range of live and near-live applications.

The new servers are 100% compatible with existing sQ systems so existing customers can expand and upgrade their systems with the latest technology rather than facing the expense and convenience of a complete system replacement. The new servers will extend the life of Enterprise sQ systems into 2020 and beyond.

On the other hand, the new servers reduce the price of the entire sQ range by 40%.

The new servers offer three times the storage capacity in two-thirds the space of the previous generation and of course feature FrameMagic, multi-user, agile real-time operation that guarantees rapid go-to-air, web or mobile. The new servers have many more advantages. Quantel has doubled disk bandwidth, with support for more editors and iO file access on each server, copying material in 2-3x real time giving everyone faster access to content, DSP codec technology allowing compatibility with future formats; dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet that improves network connectivity and bandwidth and channel integration of 16 audio channels into 3G SDI signals.
