Alchemist OD, now also turnkey integrated with hardware

The new turnkey system combines Snell's popular media processing software with powerful hardware that delivers great performance and reliability.

The format and framerate converter Quantel Snell Alchemist OD is now available fully configured as a turnkey solution from Snell, as well as continuing to be offered in a software-only version.

The new turnkey system combines Snell's popular media processing software with powerful hardware that delivers out-of-the-box performance and reliability.

From now on, it will be possible to choose between two hardware configurations for Alchemist OD: Professional and Enterprise.

The Professional package uses high-level components to create a cost-effective conversion solution for standard use. For its part, the Enterprise package incorporates components prepared for 24/7 use, including applications in data centers.

Additionally, with enhancements such as ECC memory, redundant power supply, and enhanced CPU processing, the Enterprise version enables fast connectivity to remote NAS/SAN storage.

Both systems will ship in a 4 RU chassis and a Windows Server 2012 configuration, offering support for the Apple ProRes family of codecs.
