Ira Tiffen leads a workshop on lenses and filters in Madrid and Barcelona

The manufacturer Schneider Kreuznach will present its latest solutions with Ceproma and Ovide by the hand of two international industry leaders: Ira Tiffen, vice president of the Motion Picture Filters division at Schneider Optics and the director of photography Andy Wanner.

On May 10 and 11 Schneider Kreuznach, in collaboration with Ceproma and Ovide, will host a free workshop in Madrid and Barcelona on targets and filters.

During this workshop, Ira Tiffen, Vice President of the Motion Picture Filters Division at Schneider Optics and Director of Photography Andy Wanner will discuss the technical and artistic aspects of lenses and filters.

It will be a very didactic session in which they will guide within the universe of Schneider filters, how to choose the right lenses and filters for each production, how to solve technical problems in filters, and also, they will show us the main novelties of Schneider.

The event will last 2 hours, will be held in English and will have a didactic and practical approach.

Since the late 1960s, Ira Tiffen has been creating and designing important filters and effects for cinematography, such as the popular and most recent Schneider True-Streak filters. His work has been recognized with the Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as well as receiving a Prime Time Emmy Award from The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

He has been an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) since 1992 and is the author of the chapter Camera Filters of the American Cinematographer Manual since 1988. In 2002, he was elected a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).

Today, it continues to develop new optical filters that help cinematographers tell their stories more effectively.

Andreas "Andy" Wanner, meanwhile, is director of photography and advisor to Schneider. He studied Media Technology in Germany and TV Productions and Technology in Wales. During his studies he began to work in advertisements, video clips and adventure videos in companies such as Red Bull and athletes throughout Europe. Today he continues in this endeavor while working as an advisor and ambassador for Schneider Kreuznach.
