Sony and the German TVN mark a milestone in live production with the new 4K HDR mobile unit
Designed, integrated and distributed by Sony, TVN-N6 is one of the largest and largest mobile units in Europe.
The German service provider TVN Mobile Production has been associated with Sony Solutions Europe to expand its fleet of mobile units and meet the new live news production demands. In collaboration with partners and third parties, Sony has designed one of the largest 4K HDR mobile units in Europe for TVN.
The technically advanced vehicle will be used for production in UHD, HD and high quality mixed. It has a workflow developed jointly between Sony and TVN, and has been optimized for all production formats and standards (both SDR and HDR).
The technical concept and the design of the new mobile unit have developed to support the operational experience and practical requirements of TVN, and to provide adequate infrastructure that will help them to achieve the most efficient live SR work flow for HDR delivery.
With a long history of mobile units development, including the first 4K/IP mobile unit designed to measure the world TV, Sony was chosen for their experience to design a personalized solution for TVN that satisfied its unique operational requirements and create a flexible and efficient live production environment.
Two simultaneous productions
Thanks to a new network system, the position of the chief engineer in the central control room allows access and distance configuration of all production systems through a central web interface.
Vehicle design offers two great identical production galleries, available for different customers, which allows simultaneously producing two large -scale live productions from a unit. This is achieved thanks to a double expansion body design throughout the vehicle. Combined with a revolutionary approach to vertical and horizontal hydraulic systems, the design allows the vehicle to house a huge number of equipment when it is closed.
The design of the room also allows better communication between production personnel, while offering more than 100 square meters of interior space, with 41 preconfigurable work stations of great comfort. In addition to the TVN-N6 unit, an associated assistance vehicle offers a greater production space, with two independent control rooms and additional service workplaces. All these spaces can be configured flexible and use as video or audio control rooms, or editing.

With a combination of professional design and the proper mixture of technologies, TVN -ü6 will make the improvement of workflows and operations into a reality. The new mobile unit includes DThe powerful mixers multi -format video XVS-8000 of Sony, which offer impressive flexibility and capacity for high -end production. With a total of ten m/e (mixture/effect) in UHD and up to forty m/e in HD, they allow simultaneous operation in 4K and HD, as well as powerful 4K functions. The camera control room of the new mobile unit admits to 30 HDC-4300 UHD cameras, while OLED 4K BVM-X300 reference monitors From Sony they offer an unprecedented reproduction.
