Ross Video acquires LAMA to expand its portfolio with cloud-based audio mixing
LAMA, a developer of advanced audio production software specialising in cloud environments, is the latest acquisition by Ross Video, which will welcome the brand into its product ecosystem at IBC 2025 (12–15 September, Amsterdam).
LAMA’s software has been created with a focus on optimising live audio workflows, whether operated by experienced audio engineers or streaming content creators. Designed for speed, flexibility and integration, it supports use cases ranging from live broadcasts and esports to corporate events and streaming. Its features address connectivity, mixing and mix automation with a modern, software-defined approach.
The acquisition, Ross Video explains, reinforces its ‘commitment’ to delivering comprehensive live production solutions through fully integrated audio mixing tools that complement its existing video workflows, eliminating silos and optimising production. The tool has, in fact, been deployed in demanding coverage such as Eurosport’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics and SK Gaming’s NDI integration.
According to Nigel Spratling, Vice President of Production Mixers at Ross Video, the brand began to develop an interest in LAMA due to feedback from its customers, who repeatedly conveyed how impressed they were with LAMA’s intuitive approach to audio mixing. “When we took a closer look, it was clear LAMA had built something truly special: technology that’s modern, efficient, and aligned with the needs of today’s operators,” he explains. His colleague Jeff Moore, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, adds: “We are excited to welcome the LAMA team to Ross. (…) This acquisition extends our audio capabilities, both on-premises and in the cloud.”
On behalf of LAMA itself, Ewan Cameron, co-founder and chief commercial officer, welcomes the purchase agreement: “LAMA was built to challenge the traditional complexities of live audio. Joining Ross Video allows us to keep innovating while expanding access to our technology through a trusted global brand.”
