Audinate acquires Iris Studio, provider of cloud-based camera control solutions
Iris Studio, a US company specializing in cloud-based, AI-powered camera control technologies, becomes part of Audinate (Dante), which with this move seeks to strengthen its remote production and monitoring capabilities.
Iris structures its proposition around a control-first video production platform that enables users to manage cameras remotely, providing features such as AI-based automatic tracking, real-time color correction and cloud recording, all from a single cloud interface. Currently compatible with a wide range of PTZ cameras on the market, the Iris software platform is also applicable to a variety of AV products, such as encoders, decoders, vision mixers.
The acquisition of Iris seeks to strengthen the capabilities of Audinate’s video platform by offering OEMs cloud-based native control directly on their devices, allowing users to access, control, manage and monitor devices remotely and in real-time, without the need for additional hardware. Iris has agreements with 14 different camera manufacturers, including Lumens, PTZ Optics, Marshall, BirdDog, Telycam and AIDA、とりわけ。
Aidan Williams, co-founder and CEO of Audinate, sees the move as “a major step forward for the Dante platform.” “Combining Iris’s broad applicability and cutting-edge remote production capabilities with powerful cloud-based management software like Dante Director will provide significant value for customers managing the millions of Dante-enabled devices in the field today,” the executive explained.
From Iris‘ perspective, Noah Johnson, CEO, explains, “At Iris, we set out to rethink AV device control —intelligent, intuitive, and accessible from anywhere. Partnering with Audinate gives us the scale, reach, and deep AV expertise to accelerate our roadmap and bring our vision to the next level.” As confirmed by Audinate, current Iris employees will join the company upon completion of the transaction and will work collaboratively with their new company’s teams to further expand the capabilities of the Iris platform and integrate its functionality with Dante products.
Iris was launched as a white-label service earlier this year, although it will launch publicly in the second half of 2025。
