Shure continues to provide broadcast professionals and production companies with all the equipment they may need today, in increasingly demanding environments. From portable solutions and microphones or headsets for specific applications, to wireless systems, designed to overcome today's biggest challenges...

Among the new features, the new Shure VP82 stands out, it is a short shotgun microphone for semi-professional applications. This model is compact and light, with a wide opening and highly directive. It is an economical and reliable choice for applications that require camera mounting.

As for the Shure VP89, it is a professional shotgun microphone, with a modular design with a low profile and easy handling. It is an ideal model for critical broadcast and video production applications. The new VP 89 is offered with 3 types of interchangeable capsules with 3 length formats (long, medium and short). On the other hand, it has a high-end preamp design, immune to RF. The Shure VP89 shotgun microphone is highly directive and scalable, for greater precision and flexibility in multiple situations.

Shure VP68

Also new is the Shure VP68 omnidirectional wireless capsule, an ideal solution for interviews and outdoor production. Offers an optimized polar pattern for critical microphone positioning.

The Shure VP68 interchangeable condenser capsule is compatible with all Shure handheld wireless transmitters. It is ideal for mobile applications and professional productions.

Noteworthy, on the other hand, the new Shure BRH440 M is a professional headset with microphone designed for TV, broadcast and live events. Its closed and circular design ensures excellent isolation from outside noise. It offers excellent sound quality and includes an automatic mute function (very practical) when the microphone stand is raised vertically.

Lapel microphones

Shure's Microflex series microphones are designed for fixed installations, providing audio integrators with a wide variety of options to fit any need, whether wired or wireless. Two new references have recently been added to this series: the Shure MX150 lapel microphone and the Shure MX153 cranial support microphone, both of very small dimensions and great sound quality.

The Shure model MX150 is a professional subminiature lapel condenser microphone, ideal for use in speeches or other applications requiring discreet placement. Its Kevlar-reinforced Soft-Flex cable design further reduces handling noise, while its three tie clip options allow for different placements. In addition, its windproof is very tight, so it protects from noise.

Providing exceptional vocal clarity, the Shure MX153 omnidirectional subminiature headset microphone is perfectly suited for corporate or educational presentations, as well as conference use. Its ultralight, comfortable and flexible design makes it stable and allows for quick placement with minimal adjustments. Available in three colors (matte black, beige and brown), the new MX153 offers a durable and reliable design that will give excellent results, even with continued use. This new headset microphone includes a storage and protection case, three windscreens and a collar clip.

Convert a wired microphone to wireless

In this review of Shure's new products, it is also worth stopping at the UR3 portable transmitter that allows any ENG reporter to quickly and easily convert their wired microphone into a wireless one. By simply attaching the transmitter to the bottom of the handle of your handheld microphone (or to the XLR output of any other microphone), as if it were a small extension, you can go from a wired configuration to a wireless in a matter of seconds without the microphone being greatly affected in terms of dimensions, weight and aesthetics.

In addition, the Shure UR3 provides phantom power, a high-pass filter and the ability to save memories, with the settings that the user wishes to store. This way you can have quick access to them at any time. In ENG production, this speed of assembly and adjustment is key, since every second is essential when it comes to delivering urgent news.

Regarding the Shure UR5, it is a portable diversity receiver, intended mainly for ENG use. That is why this receiver has great mounting flexibility, as it can be installed on camera bodies using an included shoe, on feet/supports with an included strap or even on Anton Bauer modules, using optional accessories.

This flexibility was also taken into account when considering the possible power options for the UR5. This receiver can operate with two AA batteries, through external direct current or through a rechargeable battery.

The Shure UR3 transmitter and the Shure UR5 receiver synchronize quickly, instantly finding a free channel for the establishment of RF communication, being compatible with the entire range of the UR series from this manufacturer.

Shure KSM9

Shure KSM9 microphones capture vocal subtlety in extraordinary detail, providing functional flexibility, clear articulation, and accurate voice reproduction. KSM9 microphones offer exceptional consistency across all frequencies, providing greater gain before feedback and minimizing proximity effect. In its wired or wireless version and with two possible finishes (champagne or black), the Shure KSM9 offers the best combination for each performance. Shure, in the UHF-R series wireless systems or in the new Axient system, presents the KSM9 as the preferred choice in handheld vocal microphones.
