Lawo - Mc2 - Día de la Bastilla 2021 - FOH

The mix of the traditional Concert de Paris, which took place at the foot of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate Bastille Day, was performed with Lawo’s mc2 solutions.

The FOH console used for the orchestra’s mix was an mc²56 with 48 faders. In parallel, a second 48-fader mc²56 was in charge of the monitoring tasks, supported by a 16-fader mc² extender that allowed social distancing between two operators. The Lawo consoles operated connected to the Optocore fiber optic network, which was set up by Radio France and used to connect the event’s mixing consoles and I/O systems.

In addition, separate control of the FOH preamps and monitors, and a split of the Lawo mc²66 console used for broadcast mixing from a Radio France mobile unit, enabled the use of the console stage boxes and Dallis microphone preamps.

10 million viewers

The Concert de Paris, held on July 14, is one of the largest classical music events. It traditionally attracts up to 500,000 spectators and is followed by a fireworks display. This year, the show – which featured the Orchestre National de France and the Chœur de Radio France, along with internationally renowned soloists – was followed on site by an audience of 15,000 people. As for its broadcast, it was enjoyed by 3.5 million television viewers in France and by an estimated audience of 10 million across Europe.

Joffrey Heyraud, Lawo’s sales director in France, says that “it is a great honor for Lawo to be trusted, year after year, by Radio France for such a prestigious event as the provider of the audio mixing consoles for both the public address and broadcast signals”, as “it highlights the excellence of our equipment with uncompromising audio processing and state-of-the-art reliability.”
