Trueba will premiere El baile de la Victoria in San Sebastián
The Oscar-winning director's latest film will premiere in the Official Selection, out of competition, at the 57th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
The Victory Dance dirigida por Fernando Trueba y protagonizada por Ricardo Darín, Abel Ayala, Miranda Bodenhöfer y Ariadna Gil, ha sido seleccionada para la próxima edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián, para una proyección especial en sección oficial, fuera de concurso. El pase de gala tendrá lugar el sábado 19 de septiembre y asistirá todo el equipo artístico de la película.
El Baile de la Victoria is the adaptation of the novel of the same name, winner of the Planeta Prize, by Antonio Skármeta. Scripted by Jonás and Fernando Trueba and Antonio Skármeta himself. It tells a story of love, friendship and revenge. It takes place at the time of the arrival of democracy in Chile, when the president decrees a general amnesty for all prisoners without blood crimes. Ángel Santiago (Abel Ayala), a young dreamer and brave determined to take revenge for the abuse he received in prison, simultaneously plans an ambitious and risky robbery for which he needs the collaboration of Nicolás Vergara Gray (Ricardo Darín), a famous bank robber who is fleeing his reputation while trying to recover his family. Their plan is complicated by the magical presence of Victoria, a mysterious teenager whose only way of expressing herself is dancing.
