AXN and Big Brother 11 will not have a paid DTT channel… for now

Once the waters are returning to normal and the nerves of the first moments of the free passage to paid DTT have calmed down, the private companies are, for the moment, withdrawing their sails on paid DTT.

As soon as the Council of Ministers gave the green light to paid DTT on August 13, all operators threw flags into the wind proclaiming their immediate intention to start premium programming. Dahlia TV announced a pre-agreement with Sony to launch AXN for pay, Telecinco did the same with the possibility of having a channel dedicated exclusively to Big Brother 11…

But, in the end, everything has come to nothing, and for the moment, operators are lowering their sails in the face of the numerous questions still to be resolved related to the need to have a common platform, a conditional access system, and most importantly, the business model to which they aspire. Thus, this season AXN will continue on the platforms Digital+, Ono, Euskaltel, R, Telecable, Orange TV, Imagenio and Jazztelia TV, and Big Brother 24 Hours can be followed through Digital+ and Telecinco.es.
