New Full IP encoders from Dicas

Dicas presented new IP input and output encoders, which accept MPEG-2 TS signals obtaining MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.

Dicas LogoGerman manufacturer Dicas has announced two new IP input and output encoders. Both SD and HD encoders accept an MPEG-2 TS input signal on an Ethernet port and, after encoding it, output MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 also over IP. Therefore, they facilitate the migration from a well-established format to one that offers clear advantages in bandwidth consumption.

Within the management software we find DicasVICO, a proprietary quality increase algorithm, based on the properties of the human visual system. DicasVICO offers up to 30% reduction in bandwidth over other MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoders, according to the manufacturer. As for DicasFlash, it is an optional plug-in that allows encoders to send H.264 packets over RMTP to Flash Media 3 servers, opening a new content distribution channel for the IPTV, Mobile TV markets...

Dicas is distributed in Spain and Portugal by Ambient Media.
