EVS will show at NAB a complete range of solutions based on its Instant Tapeless technology
EVS will show at its stand at NAB 2010 its innovative Instant Tapeless Technology proposal aimed at optimizing workflows for both broadcasters and producers. Thinking about live production from mobile units, EVS is now expanding its range of servers and software systems.
With two new servers and solutions for on-the-fly editing and comprehensive graphics, EVS will offer at NAB 2010 cutting-edge technology fully integrated into existing workflows, improving, accelerating and providing greater security for live environments.
In the studio, EVS has made it a reality that, both in material storage and playout, few already remember tape and VTRs. In this field, EVS will show at NAB 2010 the XS, its high-performance server for recording and broadcasting that guarantees its integration with third-party systems with the greatest reliability and robustness.
In terms of digital newsrooms, in Las Vegas we will be able to see in action the EVS solution based on Xedio software aimed at improving and accelerating the production of news and sports, adapting to all types of HD/SD multiformat workflow, including source acquisition, file ingestion without transcoding, virtual production and editing, central media management, and direct play out without any need for rendering. Xedio provides a unique level of integration with third-party systems, easily adapting to any existing infrastructure.
As it could not be otherwise, the Belgian company has not lost its footing in the new stereographic environments and will show at NAB 2010 the possibilities that its XT[2] production servers offer in terms of repetition, editing and slowmotion in live broadcasts in 3D.
To keep in mind when visiting the EVS stand at NAB 2010 will be the new XT[2]+ server, designed for live environments with scalable storage capacities, with up to 20 TB per server. It is available for both SD and HD in 6, 4 and 2 channel configurations, highlighting the new SAS disk controllers, its new dual networking capabilities and the new arrays for external storage.
Also new will be the new XT Nano entry-level replay server system, designed to offer slow motion replays with four HD/SD channels. This solution is ideal for sports productions with very simple workflows in which absolute immediacy is required without major complications.
On the other hand, highlight the XS server for loop recording in studio applications. The XS is the ultimate multi-format server with peerless recording and ingest from multiple A/V sources and playout control. The XD is available in flexible 2 and 4 channel configurations in both SD and HD, and is optimized for third-party control, including automation systems, linear or hybrid editors, mixers and controllers.
As far as the IP Edit system is concerned, it now incorporates the Edit-While playout mode, which allows you to continue editing material at the same time that pieces are aired, thus optimizing the editing of program versions or their multi-zone broadcast.
Another important novelty at NAB 2010 will be an analysis solution for sports graphics, integrable in the LSM XT[2]+ system for live control of slow motion and the creation of graphics that can be controlled from a simple remote.
In Las Vegas it will be a good idea to keep an eye on the new EVS MPlay multi-channel playout controller. It is a very intuitive remote control used for clios playout, playlist and graphics. Through a simple operation. The MPlay can control up to four channels simultaneously. It is designed for live productions, guaranteeing the speed of processes and efficient roll-out of operations, all of which can be configured with the IP Director software.
Finally, review the new EVS solution for virtual editing and file import in ENG environments. The Xedio Dispatcher offers the possibility of taking material from an ENG camcorder (XDCAM, P2) and displaying it in an intuitive browsing interface, thus speeding up the selection of images or the subdivision of clips. Once selected or created, clips are consolidated and transferred directly to any EVS server for integration into production or post-production operations.
