TVE closes the course as leader for the second consecutive season
La 1 ends June with a “technical tie” in practice, with a difference of one tenth with respect to Telecinco, which wins by the minimum despite the Soccer World Cup. TVE closes the month of June as the leader of the 2009-2010 television season for the second consecutive time, with 16.5%, at a distance of 1.4 points over its immediate follower, Telecinco. La 1 ends June just one tenth behind the winner, with a “technical tie” in practice, despite the fact that the competition has broadcast the Soccer World Cup. The four most watched national series are from La 1, which is a leader in self-produced fiction. Furthermore, RTVE revalidates its leadership as the leading group in the Spanish audiovisual sector, with 24.1%, its highest record in the season since 2005-2006. A privileged position that it maintains thanks to the support of the audience, its main offers and the increase in acceptance of its thematic channels.
In the season that ends and which runs from September 2009 to June 2010, La 1 is in first position for two consecutive television seasons, being the most watched channel, with an average of 16.5%, at a distance of 1.4 points over its immediate competitor. The solidity of his leadership is unquestionable: He leads 8 of the 10 months of the course and 190 days, almost 50 days more than the previous season. It is the network that best maintains its audience and that gives up the least (0.4 points). In the season that ends in June, La 1 has 16 of the 25 most viewed broadcasts and has been the only one capable of placing a non-sports broadcast (Eurovision) in this ranking.
La 1 is the leader in the after-dinner, afternoon and evening segments: it is the leader in the total of the day with 16.5%, in the after-dinner period with 19.0%, and in the hours of highest consumption it regains leadership compared to the previous season, with 17.6% and an advantage of almost 3 points over its immediate rival.

The three thematic offers of TVE, Clan, Teledeporte and 24 Horas, achieve their highest historical records for the season. They are the favorites in their genres by viewers. Furthermore, the children's and sports channels on public television have been the only thematic ones that have managed to exceed 4% acceptance on the day.
Clan TVE closes the television season with a 2.62% share. Undisputed leader in its genre, Clan is the only thematic offer that overcomes that 2% barrier and is 0.65 points ahead of its closest competitor. Clan has been the thematic channel that has grown the most (1.83 points) compared to the previous season. Its highest historical record was achieved on June 5, the day it reached 4.46% acceptance.
Teledeporte closes the 2009-2010 academic year with 0.83%, its highest historical record. It is the undisputed leader of sports themed channels and almost doubles its audience compared to the previous season (+0.38). On June 2, it registered its daily maximum with a 4.22% share.
24 Horas, leader in thematic news offering, achieved 0.63%, a historical record. It surpasses its immediate competitor by 0.15 points and is also the fastest growing news topic.
TVE's thematic offers top the ranking of the 25 most viewed broadcasts of the season. Clan and Teledeporte place 22 broadcasts on that podium. Among them, the Barcelona-Olympiacos Euroleague match or the Roland Garros tennis match between Nadal and Melzer. The latter is the most viewed historical broadcast of any thematic channel, surpassing the barrier of 1.5 million viewers for the first time. In that same privileged position are the SpongeBob cartoons, which on June 6 achieved their all-time high in viewers (1,084,000) and an 8.1% share.
Newscasts
In the 2009-2010 television season, viewers have renewed their confidence in the rigor, plurality and independence of TVE's Newscasts. La 1's news programs remain a reference for the third consecutive season. Its main editions close the course with a 19.7% share, almost 5 points away from the second option. In the same period, La 1 Newscasts have led 92% of the days.
The First Edition, with Ana Blanco, is the most watched midday news program with an average of 2,823,000 viewers and a screen share of 21.5%. He leads his immediate rival in the strip by 5.1 points.
The Second Edition, with Pepa Bueno, is the leader of the evening news programs with an average of 2,846,000 viewers and 17.9% acceptance. It is 3.3 points ahead of its immediate competitor.
The weekend Newscasts, with David Cantero and María Casado, also remain on the podium. The First Edition obtains an average of 2.6 million viewers and 20.6%, and the Second Edition 19.8% and 3,028,000 viewers. This Telediario is the most watched news program of the season and the only one that exceeds the barrier of 3 million followers. No news edition has surpassed this record since the 2006-2007 season.
The morning Newscast, with Susana Roza and Ana Roldán, closes the season as the leading morning news offering with 20.3% acceptance, at a distance of almost 9 points from its immediate follower in the same time slot
“Los Desayunos de TVE” with Ana Pastor, managed to gain the attention of 407,000 viewers, 18.0%, throughout the last television season. It is the leading political debate and analysis program in 85% of its broadcasts.
At night, “59 Segundos”, with María Casado, closes the season with an average of 713,000 viewers and a 9.8% audience share.
Leader in fiction
In June, a season that has been marked by the great successes of national fiction on TVE's La 1 concludes. In fact, the four most watched national series in that period are from La 1: Red Eagle, Tell me how it happened, The Lady y Great Reserve.

The Lady It occupies the fourth position among the most watched series in Spain with 19.5% and 3,735,000 viewers on average in the 19 episodes that have been broadcast in the ending season. It has improved by 402,000 viewers and 1.1 points in share. He leads 17 of the 19 deliveries of the season.
