Chyron: blue floods the graphics
Under the slogan “Think Blue,” Chryron has unveiled a series of enhancements to the company's portfolio of graphics solutions in Las Vegas while further simplifying the creation and playback of graphics.
Among the latest clients that Chryton announced at NAB 2011 that work with its systems include the 13 North American all-news television stations of Sinclair Broadcast Group that have implemented the new workflow with BlueNet graphics; the 12 regional television stations of the Norwegian NRK that have implemented an end-to-end workflow based on BlueNet technology; the production services operator with the largest fleet of mobile units in the US, Mobile TV Group, which has opted for HyperX3 graphics systems; and Star CJ Network India that uses the MicroX graphics system for on-air branding, as well as PRO and MicroX solutions.
Chyron has announced enhancements to its HyperX3, LEX3 and MicroX live graphics systems, each offering more powerful processing and an expanded range of capabilities, and without an increase in price. In distribution, HyperX3.1 provides faster real-time rendering, allowing broadcasters to have even more sophisticated 3D graphics in live productions. The graphics generated with the recent HyperX3.1, thanks to its backward compatibility, can be reproduced with previous versions of the popular Chyron system.
An update to Chyron's Channel Box2 software (v 4.1) introduces playlist management that allows a single traffic event to play multiple Channel Box2 scenes. By automating this process and reducing operator workload, playlist management makes processing more efficient and saves broadcasters' valuable time.
Another of the efficient features of Channel Box2, presented at NAB 2011, is the automatic application of effects between pages. When many pages are being rendered simultaneously, such as school closings or election coverage, the operator can simply select the effect on the Channel Box2 system and apply that effect across numerous page transitions with a single click. The effect is automatically generated in the animation, simplifying the process chain while adding great visual interest to a set of similar messages.
BlueZone
Chyron gives attendees the opportunity to take a look at upcoming software enhancements inside the “BlueZone” at the company's booth. Visitors can see how Lyric PRO software will soon provide broadcast control for the iPad and other PC tablets. Tablet users can select and view thumbnails of Lyric messages and even broadcast them live. In the studio, for example, you can use an iPad to select your own templates, stream them live, and then use Chyron's Touch GraphX feature to manipulate those graphs in real time. And the control potential of tablets has only just begun, as demonstrated at the press conference in Chyron, surprising those present with aerial images taken from a mini-helicopter equipped with a mini-camera controlled by an iPad.
BlueNet
Also in Las Vegas, Chyron is introducing BlueNet, a comprehensive solution that fully meets operators' requirements for end-to-end graphics process flows.
BlueNet leverages Chyron's renowned charting toolset and agility in ordering, chart asset management, collaborative chart creation and real-time playback. Integration with AXIS, Chyron's cutting-edge network services provider, increases the ability of BlueNet process flows to live stream even the most sophisticated graphics.
Chyron's BlueNet offers operators a set of tools that can be configured to meet the needs of their graphics pipeline and budgets, while offering excellent integration into major newsroom systems such as AP ENPS, Avid iNews and Dalet.
