Blackmagic Alem, a solution for each need and budget

With the aim of adapting to the production needs of each client, the Blackmagic Design Switchers ATEM range are configured as an option with powerful functions, small size and optimized cost. It has three models: 1 m/e, 2 m/e and television studio (with direct H264 coding for webstreaming).

Blackmagic Design is willing to plant battle in the production switchers market with a complete range, inheritance of the purchase of Echolab that maintains more alive than ever, whose main characteristic is the possibility of acquiring separately from the control panel. Users of the new ATEM family could thus start with a lower cost equipment, using the chassis and a software control panel for Mac or PC, expanding the installation with a hardware -based panel subsequently guaranteeing the investment endurance.

From any laptop, Mac or Windows, the ATEM range software allows you to manage the mixture with the consequent cost reduction and the possibility of easily transferring the equipment to any location. The ATEM control provides a professional control panel M/E based on software with settings, palettes and a set of very simple materials to handle and parameterize.

Switcher a la carta

Blackmagic has two models with several configuration options, with or without control panel. The 1 m/e model is housed in a 2RU chassis, with 8 inputs (SDI, HDMI and components) and 3 auxiliary outputs, in addition to a multipurpose for monitoring. This possibility eliminates the monitoring cost since the integrated multivewer allows you to show all sources, preview and program on any HDMI or SDI monitor.

The 2 m/e model occupies 3RU having 16 inputs, 6 auxiliary outputs, 2 Multiviewer for monitoring, redundant feed input and multicapa supersource composition.

Both offer four Keyers USK with an independent chroma, and linear key in the transition block, as well as 2 Keyers DSK, Stinger effects, independent curtains and castings, integrated DVE for transitions, Key repositioning and subconverted SDI/compound video outputs facilitating its connectivity and SDI and HDMI program outputs.

As for the control panels, the model for 1 m/e (can be mounted on rack) and the console for 2 m/e that allows the total control of the ATEM switcher 2 m/e. All hardware and software control panels are compatible with all ATEM switches.

Another advantage of the ATEM switchers is that they include direct capture in USB 3.0 to another USB 3.0 port for a perfect image capture with 10 bits in Full HD resolution, as well as the Middle Express software that facilitates the capture of AVI or DPX files. Both may include the Ultrascope software of BlackMagic Design that allows up to six measures to be monitored including waveform monitor, vector, histogram, RGB/YUV, levels of 8 audio channels and audio waveform.

As for multimedia playback, the ATEMs have two independent players with 2 GB that allow to launch live for Key and Fill channels up to 32 photos and two clips. In this way, we can reproduce with immediate access Kogos, skirts, titles, graphic transitions, curtains ...

Finally, notice that the AleM HDMI port facilitates a very simple start of operation.

ATEM Television Studio

In NAB 2011, Blackmagic presented the new ATEM Television Studio that combines a professional switcher with a Broadcast quality encoder H.264. This solution is designed for multicámara production and direct Broadcast coding for the Internet.

ATEM Television Studio includes six video tickets for cameras and SDI and HDMI fountains. It is lodged in a rack unit with a control panel based on software for Mac OS X and Windows. For those who wish to have a hardware panel, it is compatible with the Atem 1 m/e panel.

The new BlackMagic proposal includes all the needs for a live production environment such as Upstream Chroma Keyer, two average players, transitions, multipalla monitoring ... Users can using the software control panel to control the switcher via Ethernet from any laptop, incredibly improving the portability of the equipment.

ATEM Television Studio allows you to connect any laptop to capture Master H264 files in Full HD resolution.
Its HDMI connectivity allows the system to be adapted to HDMI consumption cameras. Each video input offers automatic frame re-inconization so it is not necessary to have genlock cameras, being able to connect them directly to the system. It has four HDMI entries and four other SDI/HD-SDI for professional cameras. The Switcher includes SDI and HDMI program outings (with multipurpose connection) and USB 2.0 for live recording of the program source with high quality H264 for web.

The Multiviewer offers a dozen totally customary video channels in terms of Tally indicators labels, showing the signals on any HDMI monitor.
