NRD and Sapec with Barça TV

NRD Multimedia has supplied the Barcelona Football Club with the terminal equipment to contribute high-quality video and audio between different club headquarters where live content is produced for its television channel Barça TV.

The equipment, installed in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, in the Miniestadi and in the Central Control of Barça TV, incorporates SDI input/output, 4 embedded audio channels or AES/EBU and IP output/input interface (2 independent ports) allowing transmission in unicast and/or multicast format and includes protection against FEC SMPTE 2022 errors.

Xavic decoders allow real-time network analysis (jitter measurement, packet loss, corrected packets, CC errors, which will allow Barca TV to easily diagnose any problem on the network).

Xavier Fontoba, Head of Operations at Barça TV, commented that the Barcelona Football Club decided to award the project to NRD multimedia since it offered the supply of “turnkey” equipment with installation and after-sales support, and because SAPEC equipment operates with high coding quality and low delay, essential in the contribution of live sports signals.
