Channel 5 Noticias chooses Shotoku for virtual production in Argentina
Executed through an iPad interface, the channel's operators produce traffic and weather updates, as well as reports on popular topics such as the economy, politics and sports with an attractive graphic display.
Shotoku Broadcast Systems has announced that the company has successfully integrated virtual reality camera assistance into C5N (Canal 5 Noticias) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Shotoku President Naoki Ebimoto made the announcement from the company's US headquarters in Torrance, California.
The information service covering news and sports was established in 2007 and is currently distributed to audiences around the world through cable, satellite, Internet streaming services and through social networks. The facility recently managed to combine the Shotoku SH120 pan/tilt headend system with Vizrt virtual 3D graphics.
Run through an iPad interface, the channel's operators produce traffic and weather updates, as well as reports on popular topics such as the economy, politics and sports. The Shotoku system was launched on the day of the presidential elections in October 2011, with captivating graphics that had been specially designed for the occasion by Vizrt.
"By using the Shotoku system, our production team has developed a new way of showing the news on a television screen. It has been very easy and reliable to produce the virtual 3D graphics; they caught the public's attention and have helped us continue in the gap as the best innovative channel in Argentina that offers the latest technology on the market," said Gastón Serralta, IT director for C5N.
“We are really delighted with the results obtained from our integration with Vizrt in Buenos Aires,” commented Ebimoto. “Virtual reality systems are the key to the future of television production; they allow small facilities like ours to cross the boundaries of their own creativity and capture the attention of their audience,” he added.
