New solutions for test and measurement from Harris in its Videotek range

Harris will present at NAB 2012 new additions to its family of test and media solutions, Videotek. These new proposals try to facilitate monitoring and measurement in environments with 3 Gb/s signals, DTV transport streams and audio loudness.
David Guerrero, vice president and general manager of Videotek solutions at Harris Broadcast Communications, noted that "the new Videotek products have been designed to respond to the changing needs and demands in new environments. Broadcasters need test and monitoring solutions for multiple formats and signals in one device. They also need monitoring solutions that respond to the new regulations derived from loudness regulation."
Among the novelties that we will see in Las Vegas, the Videotek TVM-VTM-JEM3 stands out, capable of monitoring and evaluating multi-format jitter, making it ideal for mobile production units and broadcast centers.
This equipment adjusts the jitter tolerance to ensure compliance with standards, providing different levels of jitter in a frequency range between 50 Hz and 500 kHz. It also ensures the integrity of the SDI signal, ideal for testing incoming sources on a mobile unit.
On the other hand, Harris also joins the commitment to respect the loudness level with its series of Videotek multi-source analyzers (MSA-100 and MSA-300). The new MSA-OPT-LOUD allows alarm levels to be adjusted in accordance with sound pressure control regulations. Harris will also show in Las Vegas a software update that it will integrate into its LLM-1770 monitor system together with the Harris ADC automation solution, thus ensuring a perfect sound pressure level in all on-air programs.
