The students of the stop-motion animation course will join the job pool that Clay Animation will support to carry out the second season of the award-winning series 'Clay Kids'.

The stop-motion animation course in digital environments, offered at the Ciudad de la Luz Study Center in collaboration with the Clay Animation studio, offers students who take it a job pool from which this Valencian studio will draw to make the second season of the award-winning series Clay Kids.

The course, which will be taught at the Clay Animation facilities in Valencia (Spain), will take place from November 5 to December 21.

During the course, students will acquire the necessary knowledge to construct animatable dolls based on previous designs, they will learn to interpret storyboards and shooting letters for stop-motion animation productions, to assist the animator during filming, to animate characters and objects using the assistance software according to the director's instructions. Ultimately, this course will teach the fundamentals of animation and pre-production, as well as filming stop-motion animation.

The Valencian studio Clay Animation, directed by Javier Tostado, has become known throughout the world with the animated series Clay Kids, which even before being broadcast has already won a Silver Telly Award, prestigious North American awards that recognize the best advertisements and television programs from around the globe. The series, which is aimed at an audience between 6 and 11 years old, narrates in a sitcom style the adventures of a group of young people who share a high school in a big city.

During the first quarter of 2013, the first season of this series, made up of 26 episodes, will be broadcast on Clan TV, TVE's children's channel. Likewise, countries such as Italy, France, Finland or Portugal, among others, have already expressed their intention to buy the two seasons of this series to broadcast it on different national television channels.

Job and scholarship pool

Before starting to record the second season of the series, the studio's creators and animators are going to teach the Stop-motion Animation course in digital environments, in collaboration with the Ciudad de la Luz Study Center. The studio intends to expand its staff with the brightest students of the course, so at the end of the course a job bank will be opened that will serve to hire members of the new animation team based on production needs.

Likewise, with the aim of attracting the best animators, the Ciudad de la Luz Study Center and Clay Animation offer a total of three scholarships, which will subsidize up to 25% of the total cost of the course.
