RioContentMarket 2013 kicks off, the largest multiplatform content event in Latin America
With the aim of promoting the exchange of information, ideas and networking for the industry, this event has established itself as a platform to do business, and stay up to date with the main innovations and trends.
RioContentMarket, the largest multiplatform content event in Latin America, promoted by the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers (ABPITV), opened its doors this Wednesday. With the aim of promoting the exchange of information, ideas and networking for the industry, this event has established itself as a platform to do business, and stay up to date with the main innovations and trends.
The inauguration was carried out by Altberg Marco, president of the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers (ABPITV); Marta Suplicy, Minister of Culture; Paulo Bernardo, Minister of Communications; Sérgio Sá Leitão, Municipal Secretary of Culture and president of Riofilme; Julia Levy, Audiovisual Superintendent at the Secretary of State for Culture; Luiz Ricardo Rocha Cota, Undersecretary of Social Communication of the State of Rio de Janeiro; Rogério Bellini, business director of Apex-Brasil, Manoel Rangel, general director of ANCINE and Leopoldo Nunes, Audiovisual Secretary of the Ministry of Culture.
"On behalf of ABPITV I want to thank all the partners who believed in the potential of the event and the 30 international delegations that are here this year. We are confident that the RioContentMarket will result in a successful initiative as it presents all forms of audiovisual communication," said Altberg in his opening speech.
In the first two editions of the event in 2011 and 2012, a total of 1,230 workshops and round tables were held with producers from other countries, which resulted in the closing of important alliances with more than 160 players.
For this year, around 2,500 participants representing 29 countries are expected. In total, 545 Brazilian companies and 194 international companies are present at the Rio event. The countries with the greatest presence in RioContentMarket, in addition to Brazil, are the United Kingdom, France, Argentina, Canada, Germany and Finland.
