National Radio reinforces Radio 5 with more local programming and citizen participation
Radio 5 aims to become a benchmark for citizen participation and technological vanguard with the application of its Radio 5.0 project, developed by RTVE's Interactive Media Directorate.
Radio 5 of Radio Nacional de España, about to celebrate two decades on the air, today renews its programming by increasing local information. The station will broadcast nearly two thousand minutes of local information daily through disconnections in different time slots with the stations and production centers of Radio Nacional de España distributed throughout the country.
In addition to a local news program between 9:30 and 10:00, Radio 5 broadcasts regional bulletins from today at 10:25, 11:25, 12:25, 16:25, 17:25, 18:25 and a comprehensive informative summary of the day between 19:05 and 19:30. The traditional information appointments at 7:25 and 7:50 in the morning are also maintained and five-minute territorial bulletins are added during the morning and afternoon
On the other hand, the all-news public radio aims to become a reference for citizen participation and technological vanguard in the application of its Radio 5.0 project, developed by the Interactive Media Directorate of RTVE. Radio 5 will include in its schedule various windows for the broadcast of spaces produced by listeners-Internet users.
Radio 5 listeners will not only be the first to know what has happened, but they will have enough keys to know the causes and scope of the events without having to resort to outside sources or additional mechanisms to satisfy their interest.
Manuel Ventero, director of RNE, sees in this commitment “a line that will place RNE at the forefront of technological advances and citizen participation in Europe.”
