The miniseries Card to Eva has achieved two Golden Nymphs at the 53rd Monte Carlo Television Festival. The production directed by Agustí Villaronga has been recognized with the Golden Ninfa for Best Miniseries while one of its protagonists, Julieta Cardinali, has won the Best Actress award for her role as Eva Perón. The awards were presented this Thursday in Monte Carlo.
Card to Eva, directed by Agustí Villaronga (winner of nine Goya awards for Bye Black), is a co-production of TVE, TV3 and Copia Cero that tells the story of Eva Perón's trip to Spain in 1947. It stars Nora Navas, Julieta Cardinali, Ana Torrent, Jesús Castejón and Carmen Maura, and was presented at the last edition of the San Sebastián Festival. La 1 broadcast the two episodes on May 30 and June 6, which registered an average of 2,666,000 viewers and an acceptance of 14%, becoming the second most watched miniseries of the season, behind The murder of Carrero Blanco.
Card to Eva It has already become the most awarded Spanish production of the year. His achievements also include the Gold Prize at the New York International Festival, the Silver Prize at the World Media Festival in Hamburg and two awards at the Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programs: best script, for Villaronga, Alfred Pérez and Roger Danès; and best actress also for Julieta Cardinali.
During the gala held in Monte Carlo, the URTI (International Union of Radio and Television) awards were also presented, in which the documentary The forgotten of the forgotten, co-produced by TVE, Aigua Films and Odisea, has received the URTI International Grand Prize for Author Documentary.
Every year, the Monte Carlo International Television Festival recognizes the best television productions from around the world. Its creators are rewarded with the Golden Nymphs, gold statuettes that reproduce the nymph Salmacis, the work of the Monegasque sculptor François Joseph Bosio (1768-1845), a copy of which is exhibited in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
