The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema is already on sale, for 4K ... we will still have to wait a few weeks

Blackmagic has just received this week the first request for sensors for the Blackmagic Production 4K, so it estimates that its mass distribution could begin in about three or four weeks.

The pocket camera Blackmagic Pocket Cinema is already the sale. Its commercial launch coincides with the first update of its software that will allow the first users to use this camera to have a series of improved functions.

For example, it is now easier to focus precisely by pressing the focus button using an active MFT lens. It also has a “Focus Peking” function that is accessed with a double click on the same focus button. The approach zoom is now activated also double clicking on the OK button.

Blackmagic has also updated its 2.5K movie camera, introducing De-Bayer processing that will improve the sharpness of the camera when recording RAW files.

The 2.5K sensor advantage is that this camera is that it has enough resolution to eliminate the loss of Bayer resolution from an HD sensor, but when you are recorded in RAW you produce files that are not too large to store and work easily.

It is noteworthy that both the Blackmagic Cinema EF and MFT models will reduce their price to $ 1,995 over what is initially announced.
