Brotherhood uses Blackmagic's Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 to shoot its latest cookbook
Las cámaras de Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K y Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2, rodando en formato Blackmagic RAW, le permitieron lograr la fidelity what he was looking for: "The color these units provide is exceptional. Many filmmakers focus on achieving authentic skin tones, but in all the product images I've been shooting lately, it's essential to accurately represent the food and make it look tasty. In this case, we filmed the preparation of a piece of salmon, and I was amazed at how delicious the product images we obtained with the Blackmagic cameras looked, once graded."
Ulrich and his team decided to adopt both blackmagic cameras, beyond its performance, for his “efficiency and flexibility”: “”When recording on a small kitchen set, we use the camera Pocket 4K for overhead shots and the version Pocket 6K G2 as the main unit, which gave us the possibility of capturing all the details and shots of the ingredients. The Pocket 6K G2 model also helped us feel more confident when shooting slightly wider shots, since we knew we could crop the image if necessary.” The project director also highlights some of the keys to the success of the shoot. specific characteristics of the 6K G2 model, among which are added “a larger sensor, an EF lens mount and 6K resolution”, as well as its “adjustable five-inch screen” and “neutral density filters”.
Both the mounting like him calibrations of the pieces was made with DaVinci Resolve, which helped simplify project workflow as well as streamline processes. Ulrich elaborates: "I started using DaVinci Resolve's color tools, but having to import and export files in different formats for different programs added unnecessary steps. That's why we also chose to edit our projects in Resolve, and we love it! The Blackmagic RAW format works perfectly, and the program makes it easy to process 4K and 6K material without any problems. In addition, it allows us to carry out all our workflow in a single system, which has simplified the post-production stage.”
“I am constantly amazed by the functionality of Blackmagic Design's product-based workflow, from cameras to Resolve,” concludes Ulrich.
