Fox Sport covers the US Professional Football League (NFL) with 4K servers from EVS
EVS' XT3 4K servers enable ingest, replay, zooming and playout in the 2013-14 NFL season.
Fox Sports has XT3 4K servers from EVS with Epsio zoom for live coverage of the 2013-2014 National Football League season. The 4K 'Super Zoom' workflow is allowing the broadcaster to zoom in on key replays to give viewers much closer close-ups of the images, thus dispelling doubts in committed plays.
The system has been supplied by Video Equipment Rentals (VER), a company that has added 4K capacity to one of its EVS XT3 servers.
Jerry Steinberg, senior vice president of technical operations at Fox Sports, said: "With the EVS 4K server, we can take advantage of the higher resolution of 4K to give viewers clear, detailed close-ups of the action. We also used the XT3 4K and Epsio zoom for recent World Series coverage. EVS systems always deliver the performance and reliability we need for our top-rated live sports programs."
For its NFL coverage, Fox Sports has deployed a total of eleven EVS XT Series servers, three IPDirector production management suites, two XFile stations for archiving and restore, and one XTAccess gateway.
On the other hand, it should be noted that users of XT3 servers can migrate to 4K with an interface identical to the original and without the need for additional training for system operators. The 4K
