Clear-Com interconnects all the rooms of the renovated Radio France headquarters

Clear-Com solutions will allow communication between more than a thousand offices and 60 studios from which seven national radio channels are produced.

The public broadcaster Radio France has just installed a complex intercom system based on Eclipse HX and Freespeak technology in its renovated headquarters at the Maison de la Radio in Paris. Clear-Com.

Through its distributor in France, Audiopole, Clear-Com will allow communication with more than a thousand offices and 60 studios from which seven national radio channels are produced.

The project has begun by connecting four different broadcast areas in the facilities: Studio 104, France Info, France Inter and the MDL (master control room).

Clear-Com Eclipse HXJean-Philippe Blanchard, Director of the Broadcast Division at Audiopole, said: "The size of the building and the fact that each channel wants to work independently were two of the main challenges posed by this project. After a full evaluation of the potential intercom systems, Radio France has selected Clear-Com for its ability to deliver the functional requirements, especially the 64 channels of MADI connectivity, V-Series enabled TCP/IP control keypanels, a redundant ring of optical fiber between the intercom and the matrices and its powerful wireless system, perfectly integrated.”

Studio 104 is a large recording space equipped with a Clear-Com Eclipse HX-Median matrix system as the communications backbone. Connected to the matrix via TCP/IP, it will incorporate a total of 22 V-series control keypanels, placed in all main production areas. Four other V-Series control keypanels will be connected in stereo via AES to various rooms for monitoring and program line-in. Thirteen Freespeak wireless packs will be used by assistant directors, moderators, sound technicians and lighting technicians throughout the studio.

Furthermore, the France Info and France Inter studios will be equipped with a new Eclipse HX-Delta matrix system and several V-Series control panels.
