Fairlight and Quantel streamline collaborative workflows with Gateway and QTube
The QTube API will provide Fairlight with instant audio editing, with real-time access to Quantel video compositions.
Fairlight y Quantel have announced the integration of Fairlight's Gateway sound post-production systems with Quantel's QTube.
While Fairlight is a reference in tools for editing, mixing, plug-ins, file transfer and multichannel recording, all under the control of its touch control surfaces, Quantel has marked a milestone with QTube, a solution that allows direct access to audio, video and metadata together with its sQ production system.
QTube has a RESTful API that is available to companies like Fairlight and allows the development of new workflows with minimal engineering development.
The QTube API will provide Fairlight with instant audio editing, with real-time access to Quantel video compositions.
Fairlight's Gateway can thus access Quantel's Enterprise sQ storage, without the need to render or import files, providing frame playback, jogging and scrubbing over a LAN or anywhere with an Internet connection.
Additionally, extensive search functions allow the operator to quickly find a pending job, and import audio resources from the Quantel server with ease. At the end of the session, the final audio returns to the Quantel server through the Fairlight Gateway.
Tino Fibaek, CTO of Fairlight, highlighted that "system integration within a broadcast installation is vital to meeting the challenges of today's demanding production timelines. The close collaboration between Fairlight and Quantel and the open design architecture of both systems has been crucial in the development of the Fairlight Gateway module for QTube with the aim of achieving seamless workflow integration and faster performance."
Steve Owen, Marketing Director at Quantel, said: "The QTube API truly enables tight integration of systems from different manufacturers. Fairlight Gateway is a perfect example, adding powerful sound to the ability to work with advanced production tools to complement the unrivaled editing workflow of our Enterprise sQ systems."
AT NAB 2014, Fairlight will showcase Gateway's integration with QTube at its booth.
