OConnor launches its new 60L tripod and various accessory kits
The new OConnor 60L carbon fiber tripod offers superior lightweight support for the OConnor Ultimate 2065 and 2575D fluid heads.
OConnor, a Vitec Group brand, has presented a series of proposals aimed at current production environments. This line includes the CFF-1 and O-Focus Dual Mini follow focus systems that appear again in the Film and Photo Kits, the O-Box WM mattebox, the O-Grip handle system and the universal base plate.
The new OConnor 60L carbon fiber tripod offers superior lightweight support for the OConnor Ultimate 2065 and 2575D fluid heads. The tripod has been precision engineered, constructed with strong malleable strength and lightweight material to serve a variety of production environments. The 60L only weighs 4.1 kg and has a double extension design that can stably and safely carry up to 95 kg even at its maximum height of 154 cm. Despite the great height it reaches, it folds down to only 76 cm.
The clever quick clamp system includes a visible tripod clamp lock that can be attached to the floor standoff or can be purchased as a system with a pre-adjusted mid-level standoff to ensure easy and safe development in every situation. Removable rubber feet cover spikes that provide optimal traction and secure loading on a variety of surfaces. The OConnor 60L is a lightweight, quick-to-assemble tripod with a Mitchell base with spirit level, making it the ideal choice for professional cinematographers who require a flexible filming package for large cameras (the 150mm ball variant is also available.) The OConnor 30L Carbon Fiber Tripod replaces the legacy of the 25L and 35L tripod lines and is lightweight, solid and stable making it in the perfect pairing of the current generation of the new and small Ultimate 1030D and 1030D Fluid Heads.
O-Focus Dual Mini
As for OConnor O-Focus Dual Mini is a compact, direct and dual-sided follow focus unit designed for professional camera operators and assistants. Available in a Photo Set with a 1:0.75 transmission ratio optimized for still photo lenses and hard stops for lenses with unlimited rotation, or in a Cine Set with a 1:1.4 output transmission ratio suitable for cine lenses with an extended focus scale. Both the Cinema and Photo versions offer extremely low profiles that allow the use of large diameter lenses. The modular design of the O-Focus DM allows operators to transition between Photo and Cinema lenses as well as work with the ratio best suited to their needs by changing the handle(s) – without the need for tools.
New kits for follow focus
All follow focus units are double-sided and made from 7075 Aluminum. Kits include all lens accessories and friction discs, have standard star-tooth drive coupling, backlash free module coupling system and are versatile enough to work with any lens. All kits are delivered with a sturdy Pelican Storm carrying case with foam and all appropriate accessories (including the new handle and flexible wand).
The O-Focus DM Cine Set has several of the features of the CFF-1 in a smaller model and with a direct drive mechanism. Cine Set is available with an output transmission ratio of 1:1.4 versus the CFF-1's 1:1.84 and is ideal for cine lenses with an extended focus range. The O-Focus Cine Set weighs 0.69kg including the bridges and handle.
O-Focus-DM-Cine-Set-1
The O-Focus Photo Kit features an industry first with a 1:0.75 transmission ratio optimized for photographic lenses and hard stops for lenses with unlimited rotation. It also offers a very low profile double-sided bridge type direct transmission box without a swing arm. The O-Focus DM integrates seamlessly with existing follow focus accessories including whips, handles and transmissions. The new Non-Serrated Friction Disc, for use with fixed lenses, eliminates the need for additional toothed drive rings.
