‘Know and Win’ celebrates 18 years on air
The longest-running television contest in Spain launches a new App available for mobile phones, tablets and computers
Know and Win It has become a contest that millions of viewers have followed for almost 18 years. Jordi Hurtado will be the presenter of these specials on La 1, with which TVE wants to pay tribute to the longest running competition in Spain, which began broadcasting on February 17, 1997. Furthermore, and coinciding with the anniversary, Know and Win launches a new App that will make it appear on more screens than ever thanks to the new contest game now available for mobile phones, tablets and computers. The usual broadcasts of the contest continue on La 2 at 3:30 p.m.
In these La 1 specials, 12 contestants will be selected from among the “centennial and magnificent” contestants.
The specials consist of different tests, some already known to fans of the contest, among which are 'Hidden Name', 'Each wise man with his theme', 'The errors of the adversary', 'The human calculator' and 'An image, a word and a music'.
New App
The program Know and Win It will be on more screens than ever thanks to the new contest game that is available for mobile phones, tablets and computers. The game has three game modes: contest, where the player competes against his friends; training, to play without limits; and live, where the player can answer the challenge at the same time as the contestants on television.
The game also has thousands of questions within seven contest tests such as “the challenge”, “each wise man with his topic”, “the human calculator” or “the decisive question”.
The game is available for free in the Apple and Google Play app stores and also on the program's official website.
More than 4,000 programs broadcast
Last May, the contest reached 4,000 programs broadcast, a record on television in Spain. Know and Win It also has a loyal audience and closed last October with almost 1.5 million viewers and an average of 11.5%, its highest monthly figure since October 2008.
Directed by Sergi Schaaff and presented by Jordi Hurtado and Juan José Cardenal, along with Pilar Vázquez, it is broadcast daily on La 2 at 3:30 p.m. Throughout his career he has received numerous awards, including the Ondas to Jordi Hurtado as best presenter in the last edition of the awards. Know and Win It has Nicolás Albéndiz as director and Ángels Peñarroya as deputy director.
