'Wildmed, the last Mediterranean forest', Grand Prize at the Ronda International Scientific Film Biennial 2014

More than 2,000 people from Europe and Latin America, thanks to BICCRonda, have seen scientific films this year 2014 in 12 venues spread across Spain, Ecuador and Mexico.

Wildmed, the last Mediterranean forest has won the 2014 Unicaja BICCRonda Grand Prize for the best audiovisual work, worth 2,500 euros. The jury of the Ronda 2014 International Scientific Film Biennial has unanimously chosen this work about Sierra Morena by director Arturo Menor Campillo and produced by Acajú Comunicación Ambiental.

The works have also won the BICC Ronda 2014 Awards for the best scientific R&D&I audiovisual content (with a trophy and cash award of 500 euros). In search of the first European (in Human Sciences); Australia, a journey through evolution (Natural sciences); supercomputing (Exact Sciences); Homeopathy, belief or evidence (Medicine and Health Sciences); and Evolve! (Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge).

The awards ceremony was held this weekend during the closing ceremony of the 27th edition of the International Scientific Film Biennial (BICC) Ronda, Spain, which took place from November 24 to 28 at the Convent of Santo Domingo, with a complete program around the Images and Sounds of Science and Technology in the 21st Century.

More than 500 people have attended the screenings of the 30 finalist works these days, in addition to the public that has been able to enjoy the three permanent exhibitions: Images for science, The links of life y Paco Marín Fossils.
