Almost three hundred television professionals gathered yesterday at the fourteenth Talent Awards of the Academy of Television Sciences and Arts held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports in Madrid.

Journalist Helena Resano presented an event in which the professional excellence that exists behind the cameras was recognized: “We know that television is a team effort and today that is rewarded,” she stated.

The president of the Television Academy Manuel Campo Vidal wanted to highlight in his speech that these awards “established by the former president of the Academy Ignacio Salas, try to partially resolve the injustice of television between those of us in front of the camera and those behind the camera.” “We must have hope in the sector because there is a legion of talent in the television professions that makes it possible,” he said.

On the other hand, he assured that "it is significant that we do this act in the Ministry because we defend that television is also culture. It is popular culture in some aspects but there are also series that are helping to better understand history."

Finally, the president recalled that "from the Academy we continue to ask the Government and the Parliamentary Groups to create the State Audiovisual Media Council (CEMA) in Spain. We are one of the few countries in Europe that does not have it. And it is important to work with the content, so that there is control and so that television is increasingly of higher quality."

The member of the Board of Directors Carlos Castel read the minutes with the names of the winners during the Talent Award Ceremony: César Gil Covarrubias (Director and Executive Producer) Condorcet Da Silva (HR Consultant of the Atresmedia Group), Paco Bello (Set Designer), Rafael Gómez de Marcos (First Assistant Director and Director), Xelo Montesinos (Executive Producer of Cuarzo Producciones and Director of The Ana Rosa Program), Lourdes Pascual (Director of Valtierra Producciones), Ángel Martín Vizcaíno (General Director Telemadrid), Montse Claros (Executive Producer and Program Director at Gestmusic), Pilar Nadal (Screenwriter and Executive Producer at Globomedia), Javier Caballé (Director and producer), Rosa Vilas (Television Director of Galicia TVG), Jesús Martín (Telecommunications Engineer and Director of TVE between 1986 and 1989) and César González Antón (Director of LaSexta News).
